When we say StartupStarter, we, or us, we mean StartupStarter, Inc. and our affiliates.

For Site visitors and account sign‑ups, StartupStarter is the data controller.
For data you connect from third‑party systems (e.g., Stripe, Plaid, Google Analytics, bank/payment providers, email, calendar, social platforms), StartupStarter acts as a processor/service provider to the customer that owns the workspace. We process that data under our agreement with the customer.
If a customer invites you to their workspace, your data is controlled by that customer. Please contact them first for requests about the data they control.
We collect the following types of information:
Account info (name, email, password, company, role)
Billing info (subscription plan, billing contact, address; payment details are handled by our payment processor)
Content you upload or connect (files, dashboards, KPIs, transactions, customer lists, posts, comments)
Support requests, survey responses, event registrations
With your permission, we ingest and process data from systems you connect, including but not limited to:
Payments & finance (e.g., Stripe, bank/issuer data via Plaid or other providers): transactions, balances, payouts, subscriptions, invoices, disputes
Product & web analytics (e.g., GA4): traffic, events, conversions
Communication & productivity (e.g., Gmail, Calendar): message metadata, headers, labels, calendar events (we do not read your emails' content unless you explicitly grant access for features that require it)
Social & marketing platforms: followers, engagement, campaign metrics
Device, browser, and app identifiers
Log data (IP address, pages viewed, request/response times, errors)
Usage data (features used, clicks, session duration)
Cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies below)
Partners, service providers, public sources, and referrals (e.g., enrichment for business contact details)
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data unless you provide it to us and it's necessary for the Services.
We use data to:
Provide, maintain, and improve the Services
Ingest, display, and analyze the data you connect to your workspace
Personalize the product experience and recommend features
Detect, prevent, and respond to security incidents and abuse
Provide support and communicate about service changes
Send administrative and transactional messages (e.g., billing, updates)
Market StartupStarter to you (you can opt out of marketing at any time)
Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect our rights
Where required by law, we rely on one or more legal bases: performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent (when given), compliance with a legal obligation, or protection of vital interests.
We share data only with:
Service providers/sub‑processors that help us run StartupStarter (e.g., hosting, analytics, logging, payments, customer support). Workspace members according to your workspace permissions and settings
Third‑party integrations you choose to connect
Professional advisors (lawyers, auditors) under confidentiality
Authorities when required by law or to protect StartupStarter, our users, or others
A buyer if we sell or transfer part of our business (we'll notify you where required)
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross‑context behavioral advertising without your consent.
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, to comply with our legal obligations, and to resolve disputes. We delete or de‑identify data when it's no longer required. You can request deletion at any time (see Your rights).
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, logging, and regular reviews. No system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe.

We may store and process data in the United States and other countries. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use approved safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, as required by applicable law.
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to run the Site, keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, and improve the product. You can manage cookies in your browser settings. Where required, we present a consent banner with choices for non‑essential cookies.

StartupStarter is the controller for Site and account data. For workspace data processed on behalf of a customer, that customer is the controller. If you contact us about data controlled by a customer, we will forward your request to the appropriate customer. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
StartupStarter is not for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact admin@startupstarter.co and we will delete it.
Some features use AI models to generate summaries, insights, or suggestions based on your connected data. These features follow your workspace permissions. We do not use your private workspace data to train our foundation models without your consent. Third‑party model providers used for optional features are treated as sub‑processors and are listed on our sub‑processor page.
The Site may link to other websites or services. Their privacy practices are their own. Please review their policies.
We may update this Policy from time to time. We'll post changes here and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we'll provide additional notice (e.g., email or in‑app).

Workspace owners are responsible for (a) having a lawful basis to connect third‑party systems to StartupStarter; (b) honoring data subject requests; (c) setting appropriate permissions; and (d) complying with applicable laws. Upon request, StartupStarter will provide a Data Processing Addendum (DPA).
We use vetted third parties to help deliver the Services (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, logging, email delivery, payment processing, error monitoring). We maintain and update a public list with the purpose of processing and location for each provider.
Account data: for the life of the account + up to 24 months
Logs and telemetry: 12–24 months
Connected‑system sync data: configurable by workspace; default 24 months rolling, or per customer contract
Backups: according to our backup policy and retention windows
Legal holds: as required by law
Use in‑product privacy controls where available, or contact admin@startupstarter.co. We may need to verify your identity (and your relationship to a workspace) before fulfilling your request. If we cannot verify, we may be unable to act on the request.
If there is any conflict between this Privacy Policy and a contract you have with StartupStarter (e.g., a DPA), the contract will control for the conflicting terms.
